Explanations:

Entertainer: Luke will win. He's CMA's baby. No brainer.

Female Vocalist: Although I think Kacey Musgraves is the better vocalist of the lot, the politics point to 'Ran.

Male Vocalist: Blake Shelton is IMHO the best damn male singer in country music. Chris Stapleton gets the hipster vote.

Album: There hasn't been a better album this year than that of Chris Stapleton's "Traveler", and Nashville loves him. The other nominees simply don't stand a chance.

New Artist: I'd love to see it go to Maddie & Tae, but Sam Hunt's monster year of number one singles and a number one album makes him the clear cut winner.

Song: No song received as much airplay, requests, or caused as much of a stir as "Girl Crush." "Take Your Time" is the runner-up.

Single: "Girl Crush" based on sales alone. This song was a monster. "I Don't Dance" by Lee Brice is my other fave of the year.

Vocal Group: Lady A slowed down this year leaving it wide open for Little Big Town to finally get the credit they've long deserved. It's their year.

Vocal Duo: Maybe next year, Maddie & Tae, but CMA isn't kind to newcomers. It's all FGL.

Musical Event: "Raise 'Em Up" was simply an epic single, and put two of the best male performers in the genre together in one amazing song.

Music Video: CMA is more lenient to newcomers in this category, and honestly, this video was just as entertaining and cute as M&T are. "Girl In A Country Song" FTW!
